What is Fioricet?

Fioricet is a combination medication used to treat tension headaches. Acetaminophen helps decrease the pain from the headache. Caffeine helps increase the effects of acetaminophen. Butalbital is a sedative that helps decrease anxiety and cause relaxation.

How to use Fioricet

Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually every 4 hours as needed. Do not exceed 6 tablets per 24-hour period. This medication is best used at the first sign of a headache.

Critical Warnings

Liver Warning: This product contains acetaminophen. Severe liver damage may occur if you take more than the maximum daily amount or consume with alcohol.

Drug Interactions: Inform your physician of all other medications you are currently taking, especially blood thinners or other sedatives.
