Usage & Dosage
What is Sildenafil?
Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. It works by increasing blood flow to specific areas of the body by relaxing the muscles in the walls of blood vessels. It is primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
How to use Sildenafil
For erectile dysfunction, take this medication by mouth as needed, usually 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual activity. Do not take Sildenafil more than once in a 24-hour period. While it can be taken with or without food, a high-fat meal may delay the onset of the medication's effects. Effectiveness requires sexual stimulation.
